Bible Steps · English Through Scriptures

Stories worth reading, at a level you can actually read.

Graded readers for English learners, built on the oldest stories we have. Every book is written to a strict CEFR vocabulary ceiling — so the story carries the learner, not the dictionary.

ORIGINS — Six Stories That Shaped the World, the Bible Steps beginner collection

The problem

Most graded readers are graded in name only.

Learners at A1 and A2 open a “beginner” book and hit forty words they have never seen. They stop reading, and they conclude they are bad at English. They are not. The book was miscalibrated.

Bible Steps is built the other way around. Each title has a measured ceiling on unique words and total words, verified against CEFR A1–A2 before it is published. The text is set in 12 pt with generous leading, because beginning readers need air on the page. What is left is a complete story a learner can finish — and finishing is the whole point.

How the series is built

1

Controlled vocabulary

Every book is audited for unique-word and total-word counts against its CEFR band. Nothing ships until it is inside the ceiling.

2

Whole stories, not fragments

Each title is a complete narrative with a beginning and an end — not an excerpt or a comprehension passage invented for a test.

3

Made for the classroom

Every story has a matching worksheet set with an answer key and a teacher tip, so a lesson can be built in minutes rather than evenings.

ORIGINS — Six Stories That Shaped the World

The first collection in the Bible Steps series: Creation, The Fall, Cain and Abel, Noah’s Ark, The Tower of Babel, and Abraham’s Journey. Six complete stories at CEFR A1–A2, gathered in one paperback with a level guide and a how-to-use section.

The six titles are also available individually as ebooks, for learners who prefer to read one story at a time.

Six collections, one curriculum

ORIGINS is the first of six planned collections running from Genesis to Revelation — thirty-six stories in all, at a steady pace over the coming years.

Teachers who adopt the series are not buying a book. They are adopting a reading path a student can follow for years.
